It’s time for June clearance sales, but what kinds of things will you find on sale?
Summer is rapidly approaching, and as the calendar turns to June, many stores are gearing up for their June clearance sales. That being said, some of the items you see offered at June clearance sales might be far different than what you are expecting.

Clik here to view.Considering that the month of June is usually the definitive end of spring and the official start to summer, it would be spring-related items that would be deeply discounted this time of year. Retailers would want to unload their unsold gardening supplies and spring clothing, right?
Wrong. If a retailer is currently holding a clearance sale to move spring lawnmowers, they are already woefully behind. It’s summer goods that are the stars of June summer sales. Grills, lawn furniture, power tools, summer clothing, and swimwear are just some of the items found at June clearance sales.
Of course, this seems completely counter-intuitive as in places, such as the UK, summer hasn’t even begun yet. Why on Earth would retailers want to put summer items on sale now, at the beginning of the season?
It has to do more with the wholesale ordering cycle than with the weather outside. Retail outlets need to have their warehouses full and shelves stocked of seasonal merchandise before consumers actually start to want them. Otherwise they find themselves tragically unprepared for an early start to a season, and place themselves at risk of not being able to secure shipments from wholesalers in time.
Because while many people hold off on purchasing seasonal goods, like swimsuits in summer, till well into the season itself, many people also plan ahead. Plenty of people shop for their summer wardrobe and supplies in May, ensuring that they can bring out the grill the first weekend that the weather turns nice.
The reason that June clearance sales focus on moving summer merchandise is that they need to clear the shelves, and the warehouse space, for the next batch of seasonal items arriving shortly. While you may be dreaming about the end of school and summer holidays by the seaside, retail buyers already have their feel firmly planted in autumn and the back to school season. Those orders need to be made now, so when it’s time to head back to school and work, the stores are ready.
That is also the reason why you’ll never see computers or art supplies discounted in June clearance sales. These items are the big sellers in July and August for back to school. Consequently, if you really want a new laptop, you should hold off till August when they prices will be drastically cut in order to move them out before winter.
If you are a commercial buyer looking for deals through TheBiggestClearance, you should keep these cycles in mind. Garden tools might be cheap now, but hard to move for another year. On the other hand, if you see wholesale or liquidated computers on sale in June, you should snap them up as they can be moved in a very short period of time. After all, a good deal, when made at the right time, becomes a great deal.
